Thinking Like A Christian

There is a vast difference between being a Christian and thinking like a Christian. Thinking like a Christian requires us to know and apply—in all areas of life—the God-given principles that help mankind thrive.  It is a comprehensive thought process that guides us and helps us make sense of, and improve, the world around us; an understanding that influences what we do every single day of our lives.

Worldview & Apologetics Track

Bob Wallace (Eight Weeks)

Parenting

Contrary to popular belief, good parenting is not an inherited trait that miraculously appears the moment our children are born.  Being a good parent is HARD WORK, and it requires knowledge and wisdom and understanding, along with humility because parenting comes with a never-ending learning curve.  Come and join us as we examine the principles of parenting that will help our children thrive, and help us as parents survive!

Biblical Relations Track
Steve Vutsinas (Eight Weeks)

Cross-Cultural Mission Prep

Pastor Brandon and Anna will be leading a course on cross-cultural missions for both the individual, and the family. The eight weeks will cover a love for the nations, learn different worldviews and cultures, and build a desire to want to “go share the Good News to all Nations.”
Course cost – suggested donation of $10 to cover mission booklets

For: Individuals: (14+) and Families (attending children ages 5-13 must be accompanied by a parent as we strongly encourage families to take this class as a family unit).

Missions & Evangelism Track

So You Want To Be A Writer?

TBCF is partnering with KPC’s Writer’s Group, a group that has existed for over two decades.  If you’ve ever written, have a deep desire to write, have even thought about writing but were unsure about how to go about it, or are merely curious about becoming a writer, for your own purposes or for publication, this class is designed for you.

Practical Life Skills Track
Mike Petway
 (Six Weeks)

2x2

This class is designed for those 15 and older who want to learn the skills necessary for building projects and handling the power tools required for TBCF building projects, whether in Chesapeake or on the mission field. If you’re a high school, college student, or adult with some grit and you’re willing to get your hands dirty, come join the team!

Practical Life Skills Track

Chuck Reed (Four Weeks)

DRT Initial Orientation

The Disaster Relief Team (DRT) is a team being developed at TBCF that is being trained to render aid after disasters, whether hurricanes, flooding, earth quakes, etc.  Disasters come in many forms and varying conditions, and learning to keep one’s self safe, or in this case a team, and then assisting others will be the long-term focus.  Adults with specialized skills and training are especially welcome.  Initial training can begin at 16.

Special Teams Track

Chuck Reed (Three Weeks)

What Do You Really Believe?

What if you could step back from everything you’ve been taught about Christianity and ask, “Is this really true—and why do I believe it?” FOUNDATIONS explores the core truths of biblical Christianity, designed for the curious, the brand-new believer, the lifelong churchgoer, and anyone quietly wrestling with questions they’ve been afraid to ask. Who is God and what has He revealed about Himself? Can I really trust the Bible? What is the hope of Christianity? We’ll open the Scriptures, ask honest questions, and discover what Christianity is truly built upon—and why those foundations matter.

Foundations Track

Cindy Newman (Eight Weeks)

Intercessory Prayer Team

The intercessory prayer team is a team that intercedes for GROW Campus as well as for TBCF and whatever else the Lord lays on their hearts. Their primary focus is prayer but there will also be times of teaching about prayer. It is in the truest sense of the word, an application class. If you are an intercessor, want to become an intercessor, or simply want to learn more about prayer, join with them as they pray for the saints.

Joanne Tavolacci (Eight Weeks)
