2026 MISSIONS
Mission Home
July 20-24, 2026
Come be a part of our family-friendly mission trip in Hampton Roads this summer, where our primary goal is to turn on our mission-minded eyes in our local community and minister to the surrounding areas. There’s meaningful work for all ages and skill levels!
Beyond hands-on work, there will be opportunities to pray, share the Gospel, and minister to the neighboring cities. Each day, we’ll come together for times of prayer, worship, devotionals, and debriefing as we reflect on all that God is doing.
Expect to be stretched, inspired, and blessed as you serve the Lord in Hampton Roads. Join us for an unforgettable experience of faith in action!
Opportunity to see your community through mission-minded eyes.
Living on mission starts here! Sometimes we think mission happens somewhere far away, but it happens much closer to home. In the places we pass every day, there are people, stories, and needs we may have never fully noticed. This is an opportunity to slow down, look around, and see your community in a new way. Even familiar places can become meaningful ground for mission.
Why Mission Home?
God has strategically placed our church in Hampton Roads to be mission-minded in our local communities. This 5-day adventure gives you the opportunity to experience and serve across Portsmouth, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach—focusing on the unique needs of each city.
Each day will include worship, a sermon, workshops, lunch, and a hands-on mission experience in the community.
Who is this for?
Mission Home is an opportunity for people of all ages in our church to serve in missions right here in Hampton Roads alongside teams from our church and Minnesota.
Where?
Each day will kick off at the church at 8AM with a session, worship, and team building. You’ll stay at or near the church through lunch before heading out in the afternoon for your mission assignment. Your assigned team will determine which city you serve in each day!
Mission Focus by City:
Norfolk– Homeless Ministry and Urban Plunge
Portsmouth– children’s ministry/ ice cream truck and ferry boat excursion
Chesapeake– House repair ministry and food/clothing rescue boat
Virginia Beach– Board Walk and beach evangelism
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this work if I have a full time job?
Join us for any amount of time you have to offer! However, we would challenge you to think of this as any other mission trip where you would be taking time off. If you are not able to be there during the day, there are many behind the scenes opportunities to help prep in early mornings/late evenings.
What do the fees cover since there’s no lodging?
The fees cover lunch and snacks for each day, cost of outreach materials needed, and transportation! Any extra proceeds will go towards VBS expenses. You will also be provided with a swag bag of epic-ness.
I heard the crime is high in these places. Is my family going to be safe?
While it is true that there is crime and we cannot guarantee anyone’s safety, precautions will be taken and locations vetted. Every outreach will be done in large teams and mid-day. We will not be out after dark.
